Hope for Sumba: A Night of Giving Unites Bali’s Philanthropic Community Sanur, Bali

  • 459

A balmy evening in Sanur set the stage for an extraordinary act of generosity as Fullers Properties hosted the Hope for Sumba Fundraising Gala for the Children of Sumba at The Hub Bali. The event brought together leading figures from Bali’s philanthropic and property sectors in a shared mission—to transform the future of underprivileged children in Sumba through education.

This inspiring initiative, two years in the making, forms part of Fullers Properties’ Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme. With a target of IDR 250,000,000 (~USD 15,000), the funds raised will support the reconstruction of a local school in Sumba, equipping it with proper infrastructure, Starlink internet, and salaried teachers. The forthcoming Fullers Community Learning Centre will further provide English and vocational training, both in-person and remotely. In recognition of their generosity, Platinum and Gold sponsors will have their names or logos featured on a commemorative board at the school.

The evening unfolded within the sophisticated surroundings of The Hub Bali, where guests were greeted with warm hospitality before an exclusive screening of a 30-minute documentary that offered an intimate glimpse into the heart of the cause. Adding an artistic touch, guests participated in a live painting session with renowned artist Graham Cullis, whose piece, Heart of Kampung, was auctioned to bolster fundraising efforts.

Momentum surged during the spirited live auction and lucky draw, as bidders vied for bespoke experiences and luxury villa stays—testament to the profound commitment to supporting Sumba’s children.

The success of the event was made possible through the unwavering support of distinguished sponsors and partners, including Noon Villas Bali, The Hub Bali, Nomeo, Hotel Vila Ombak, Mahamaya Gili Meno, La Casa Modular, Escape Nomade, Graham Cullis, Sima Hotel Sumba, Kabisu Sumba, YPI Asia, BlueWater Express, Swiss-Belhotel International, Raywhite Kuta, Java Visual, Bali Bound Realty, and Fullers Originals.

The Hope for Sumba gala was not merely a social highlight but a powerful reminder that collective action can ignite real and lasting change.
