Karma Kandara, A luxury resort in Uluwatu, recently hosted a magical Arabic Nights-themed dinner on their private beach. The event was a feast for the senses, with flavourful Arabic food, carpets and beanbags in the sand, oriental lanterns, a DJ playing music in the background, and a fire show providing a vibrant atmosphere.

As the sun began to set in Uluwatu, guests were welcomed with a selection of refreshing drinks, from smoothies to cocktails. The culinary delights that followed were delicious, each one more tasteful than the previous. The menu featured 10 courses full of Arabic flavours by the talented chefs at Karma Kandara. Starting with a variation of the Levantine kitchen, Hummus, Tabouleh and Baba Ghanoush served with warm and soft bread was a perfect start to the evening. This was followed by smoked eggplant with Sumac yoghurt and pine nuts, and spiced grilled prawns. As guests savoured the tasty dishes, a group of belly dancers took the stage and gave us a dance performance, followed by an impressive fire show.

As the evening continued, guests were treated to a variety of other dishes that showcased the delicious Arabic cuisine. Next up, we had Barramundi with grilled stone fruits, a dish that stood out, as was the lamb meatballs with pomegranate fondue and goat cheese. The Moroccan spiced chicken Tagine with chickpeas and olives was another highlight of the evening.

My personal favourite – the Harissa glazed Wagyu steak Shisha Kebab was a mouth-watering dish creating a flavourful experience for my taste buds. Next up, the saffron Couscous with dates and dried fruits provided a sweet and savoury contrast to the meaty menu. And lastly, to end the culinary experience on a sweet note, we were served a variety of Arabic sweets and fresh tropical fruits.

The Arabian Night at Karma Kandara was more than just a dinner, it was a sensory experience that blended the Arabic cuisine, atmospheric ambiance, and captivating entertainment together with a stunning beachfront setting that made it an unforgettable experience. I was fortunate enough to be invited to this event and would suggest anyone who visits Bali to visit this gem.
