SINGAPORE AIRLINES RESUMES FIRST FLIGHT TO BALI ON 16 FEBRUARY

Singapore Airlines (SIA) resumed flights to Bali for the first time since March 2020. The flight arrived at Bali’s I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport on the same day at 11:57 (local time).

SIA is the first foreign scheduled airline to fly to Bali after the Indonesian government opened Bali’s border to foreign tourists. Upon the arrival of SQ 938 at I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, the aircraft was welcomed with a water cannon salute.

SIA will operate seven flights weekly between Singapore and Bali. The resumption of daily flights to Bali will allow customers the flexibility and convenience for those who wish to travel to and from Indonesia.

Nia Niscaya, Deputy Minister for Marketing at Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy Republic of Indonesia, said “The return of Singapore Airlines to Bali is one of the many results of the strong collaboration between Singapore Airlines and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy. Certainly, this will improve the accessibility of foreign tourists to Indonesia, especially Bali, given the huge market demand for visiting tourism destinations in Indonesia. It can also increase stakeholders’ opportunities to rise and support national economy through tourism sector.”

“We would like to thank the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, Ministry of Transport, Angkasa Pura, the Balinese government and the relevant authorities for their continued support which enabled SIA to re-open this route. With more borders opening up, it gives us the confidence in the future of the tourism industry. We will continue to work with our partners to make the re-opening of Bali a success,” said Mr. Alvin Seah, General Manager Indonesia, Singapore Airlines.

SIA will deploy a Boeing B787-10 aircraft with a seating capacity of 337 passengers, with 36 Business Class seats and 301 Economy Class seats. Business Class customers can rest in comfort, even on short-haul flights. Meanwhile, the improved Economy Class seats offer more space and greater comfort. In addition, a bigger 11.1” touch-screen monitor allows for more convenience to customers who wish to catch the latest movies on KrisWorld, Singapore Airlines’ award-winning in-flight entertainment system.

SIA continues to monitor demand closely and will adjust its network regularly to match capacity to demand.
