Bali Zoo Introduces Elephant Explorer – An Immersive Experience with Gentle Giants
Bali Zoo launches Elephant Explorer on 15 April 2026, a new immersive experience that invites visitors to explore the world of elephants through guided observation, education, and close encounters in a naturalistic setting.
As travellers increasingly seek meaningful ways to disconnect from digital fatigue and reconnect with nature, Elephant Explorer offers a more mindful way to experience wildlife, slowing down to observe, learn, and appreciate animals in a calm and respectful environment.
Elephant Explorer takes visitors on a guided journey through a lush habitat using a ranger car, offering a comfortable way to explore the area. Throughout the experience, visitors can observe elephants up close, participate in feeding sessions, and gain deeper insight into each elephant’s unique personality, diet, and behaviours, guided by Bali Zoo’s experienced mahouts.
“Elephant Explorer offers a truly unique experience, allowing visitors to connect with our gentle giants in a more personal and meaningful way, while ensuring the wellbeing of our animals remains at the heart of everything we do,” said Emma Chandra, Head of Public Relations at Bali Zoo.
Home to 14 elephants, Bali Zoo continues its commitment to the conservation and long-term care of this remarkable species. The successful birth of two male elephant calves reflects the zoo’s ongoing dedication to providing a safe and supportive environment for elephants to thrive.
Through Elephant Explorer, visitors are encouraged to engage in a more mindful way, observing natural behaviours, understanding social dynamics, and appreciating the strong bond between elephants and their mahouts.
The program is available daily from 09.30 to 16.30, with an introduction rate of IDR 1,500,000 for adults and IDR 1,070,000 for children, valid until 30 June 2026. The experience includes a welcome drink, guided ranger car tour, elephant encounters and feeding session, refreshments, merchandise, and zoo admission.
With Elephant Explorer, Bali Zoo continues to evolve its visitor experiences offering a more thoughtful way to connect with wildlife through understanding, respect, and care.
